Whangarei has two main mountain bike parks: Parihaka and Glenbervie.
Parihaka is the officially designated park. Both parks offer trails for cross-country, freeride, and downhill. The Whangarei Mountain Bike Club is thriving, with membership steadily growing.

Whangarei BMX Club is based in the centre of town at 109 Dave Culham Drive, Pohe Island Bike Park. The club has regular club nights in spring and summer and Sprocket training nights once a week.

Parafed Northland enables the delivery of quality sport and recreation opportunities for Northlanders experiencing a disability. Parafed Northland works with people throughout the Northland community who live with a disability to see them included and involved in sport and recreation for enjoyment, good health and competition

An informal group from around Whangarei that was started as a place to connect with other like-minded ladies who like to ride. They aim to ride every couple of weeks and promote their rides through their Facebook group.

A very active group of enthusiastic mountain bikers, the Kerikeri MTB Club has been growing dramatically over the past few years.
Their tracks are in Whitehill Forest. Hand-crafted and machine-built tracks, for intermediate to expert riders, weave through plantations and native forests. Covering a range of terrain, from technical, rooty and off-camber tracks to smooth berms and jumps, there is an adventure around every corner.

Based at the entrance to Waitangi Mountain Bike Park, Paihia Mountain Bikes are perfectly located for you to explore the incredible tracks of the Waitangi Mountain Bike Park.
The team offer a range of services from education programmes for schools, holiday programmes, bike rentals and guided tours, bike sales and full workshop servicing and repairs.

Kaipara Cycling Inc aims to provide a safe and accessible all-weather facility for riders of all skill levels, from beginners to experts. In addition, Kaipara Cycling continues to foster a vibrant riding community centred around the Pou tu o Te Rangi Mountain Bike Park at Harding Park in Dargaville, a dedicated space for everyone from balance-bike toddlers to beginner adults.

Whangarei Marsden Wheelers is the local road cycling club.
The club is friendly and open to new members. Beginner riders, young or old, will find the club has a wealth of experience to share, and there’s plenty to challenge the more experienced and competitive riders too!
