Te Horo School discovered that the hill behind their field was in fact school grounds, so they built a bike track!
It was amazing, complete with bermed corners and tabletop jumps. These kids were going to get pretty skilled on their bikes, and the health and well-being benefits are many.
We took them out some helmets and got treated to a school assembly, a waiata, and a tour of their track.
The school was looking to finish the landscaping and fencing around the track. A container was on its way to store the bikes. They already had a few bikes and are looking for ways to increase their fleet. I am sure this track will prove to be an invaluable school and community asset.
