Route Description
This circuit around the mid-north gives the cyclist a cross-section of the best that Northland has to offer. Golden sand beaches & dunes, tranquil harbours, tidal estuaries, rocky coastlines, and towering kauri forests. It is mostly along remote roads and includes all of Northland’s great ride, Pou Herenga Tai–Twin Coast Cycle Trail. The riding is often through remote areas and well off the beaten tourist track. Take your time to explore nearby beaches, lakes, rivers, and historical and cultural places.
